Base Lessons

The Bass plays a very important role in music. It may look like an electric guitar but the role of the bass is quiet different. The bass works with the drums to produce the rhythm section.
“No matter what kind of music you’re playing, it just enhances the sound and makes everything sound more beautiful and full. When the bass stops, the bottom kind of drops out of everything.”
We provide Bass tuition in private lessons only. We recommend minimum age for learning the bass 6years old, as the bass is slightly larger and requires little more physical strength from the fingers. However there are smaller bass made for young beginners. Learning the bass will greatly improve the following skills:
Rhythm
Reading Music
Coordination
Focus
Memory
Patience

Drum Lessons

5 Reasons why you should learn to play the Drums
1. Its FUN!
Playing the drums is great fun. No matter your ability level. You can     easily beat out a rhythm on the drums.
2. Its the heartbeat to most musical style
Think of your favourite songs on the radio, whatever musical genre they may be. You will hear the drum beat carrying through the music. Having these drum element in music is what makes you want to MOVE, tap your foot, shake your body etc…..
3. Helps your concentration and coordination skills.
When you’re playing in a band or ensemble, its important that as a drummer you do not disturb the tempo of the song.  The more practice you put into drumming the more you can hold your concentration for long periods of time.  Your coordination skills will improve . All of this will benefit you in everyday activities as well.
4. Stress Relief
Theres nothing better than having a blast on the drum kit with the drum sticks. The adrenaline takes away the stress whether you have had a tough day at school or work. You will always feel refreshed after having a go!
5. Its quieter and smaller than you think
If you are worried about the neighbours complaining about the sound, the electric drum kit is the solution. Its small, quiet and can be played through headphones, also they are very affordable.

Guitar Lessons - Methodology

Goal:
To be successful at anything you attempt, you need to be able to measure it through a specific goal and by mastering specific skills. Hence the 7 essential skills. Once you have mastered each skill and can perform songs to an acceptable level you will move to the next level.
Practice:
This is one of the most important aspects of learning anything. The amount of time you invest in practicing will determine the quality of your achievements. A practice log is a good way for you, and your teacher to monitor your progress.
Motivation:
Most people need motivation to prevent them from giving up a task. Once you have established your goal and developed a good practice routine, inevitably motivation tends to follow. Human nature naturally gravitates towards incentive and when you can see improvement and an increase in your skill level, this inspires you to continue to improve.
Support:
If you are having a problem with a certain aspect of your lessons, it’s important to get in touch via email. You shouldn’t wait until the next lesson, as this could be demotivating. Having access to support will allow you to learn faster and also get a second opinion.
Simplicity:
“The greatest ideas are the simplest.” -William Golding, Lord of The Flies
If something is easy to understand then motivation, perseverance and success are far more within reach. Our Method is simple yet extremely effective, allowing anyone at all to achieve their dream of learning to play the guitar.

DSC_5518-800x600.jpg
My love of music began at a very early age.  I started playing guitar at the age of 7. After graduating HSC from the Australian Institute of Music, I studied contemporary music performance and earned a Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree. Whilst studying for my degree, I toured Sydney with bands and teachers, playing in shows and at clubs, functions and weddings.
I have been teaching music for around 8 years, beginning with the  Yamaha music school in Asia 2009.
In 2010 I began to teach for G4 guitar school in Northbridge and Lane Cove, until 2012 when my passion for music prompted me to created G Major Guitar School.

My ultimate goal is to inspire others to take the step to learn.

David was extremely lucky to have guidance from one of the greatest guitarist of all time Mr. Tommy Emmanuel. ‘The early stages are important in laying downtime foundations of technique and musicianship, but at the same time it needs to be fun”
David aims to share the enjoyment of playing music with students of any age and level.
