Workshop on Government translation (3 hours) ($120 per person)This workshop covers the translation and common translation errors on the terms between China (incl Taiwan, Hong Kong etc) and Australia on the government systems at various levels, parliamentary systems, chief government leaders and ministers, political parties, election system and diplomatic services etc. It will be extremely useful in translating/interpreting assignments for governments between both countries.(Teaching hours: 3-6pm Saturday) 2. Legal Interpreting (36 hours) ($1,440 per person, a class of 5 students)(Teaching including vocabulary explanation, sight translation, dialogue interpreting, consecutive interpreting and chuchotage etc)Contents cover the following:Introduction to interpreting in Australian courts and tribunals and its legal system; tribunals incl AAT [administrative appeals tribunal] and CAT [civil and administrative system] etc; correctional services incl federal and state police system; criminal law, civil law, family law, immigration law, compensation law etc.This course is aimed to help individuals who are preparing to sit for the test to get a certificate as a NAATI certified interpreter or at a higher level, a certified specialist legal interpreter. (Teaching hours: 3 hours each session) 3.
